Chinese New Year- Lantern Parade

Today was the last day of our Chinese New Year unit.  We celebrated with some awesome cupcakes (thanks to Isaac’s mom!) and a lantern parade around the school.  It took us a few days to prepare for our parade.  We made dragon masks, Chinese hats, dragon puppets, and fish lanterns!

We paraded through the school, visiting different classes along the way.  We shared some facts about the Chinese New Year and wished everyone “Kung Hey Fat Choi!”

Also, during music class over the last two weeks, our class has been learning a Chinese fan dance.  Yesterday was their final performance, so I stopped in to check it out.  (Check out the video below!)
