1st Week (and a half!) of School in 4R

Ooooh, how exciting, our first blog post of the school year!!  We’re off to a great start on our 2014-2015 school year.

We spent much of the first 3-day week going over rules, procedures, schedules, and other fun things like that.  We also worked on some team-building activities to get us into working in groups.  Here are some highlights from our first 3 days:

Our first full week of school brought about our regular schedule, diving into all of our weekly subjects, and traveling to our specials classes.  We did get to try out our iPads this week, in a Math center using QR codes to learn about Place Value.  It was great fun!!

Like all good things…

…summer, too, must come to an end.

It has been a wonderful summer break! I had the opportunity to spend just over 3 weeks with my family in June and July. We spent much of our time in Wisconsin, but also took a family road trip to Washington, DC for a few days.

Here are a few highlights from our vacation adventure:

But alas, like all good things, even summer must come to an end at some point.  But that means that the excitement of school starting up again soon is upon us!!  I’ve been hard at work getting things ready for the new 4R Class of 2014-2015!!  A few new updates and changes to our room, along with some returning favorite things.

Here are a few pictures of our room for the year:
